Do you allow walk ins or should I schedule an appointment?
We do accept walk in appointments, however it is recommended to schedule an appointment for any veterinary service. This will help ensure that when you arrive there is time alloted specifically for you and your pet. Without an appointment there is no gaurantee of when your pet will be seen or how long you may have to wait. All scheduled appointments will take priority over any walk in. Grooming is done by appoinment only.
Can I make payments?
Payment is required at the time of service and we gladly accept cash, checks and most major credit cards. We also accept Care Credit as a payment option.
What is your policy for after hours emergencies?
It is our clinic policy not to accept new patients outside of our normal business hours. However if your pet is a current patient of Paragould Animal Clinic and an emergency should arise after hours, you may call our main clinic number and be directed to our on call veterinarian. There are additional fees associated with any after hours emergency service.
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly request a 24 hours notice to cancel all appointments. Please be sure to contact us if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment.
How should I prepare for my pet's annual appointment?
An annual exam is a standard procedure that we conduct but it is up to you to keep watch and make notes about your pet’s health and behavior. Our comprehensive full body examination of your pet will help ensure optimal health. Please come to us with anything that you notice or any questions that you may have regarding your pet's health.
What is the process for having my pet spayed or neutered?
Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately five to six months of age. You will need to schedule an appointment for these procedures. Your pet is admitted at the beginning of the morning and will stay with us until later that same afternoon. If you feel more comfortable leaving your pet with us overnight following the surgery, you may do so at no additional charge. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine if they are healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure, however we do recommend performing a pre-anesthetic blood screen to evaluate kidneys, pancreas, liver, electrolytes, white blood cells, and red blood cells levels. This bloodwork can find health conditions that may go undetecteded otherwise. A current Rabies vaccination that has been given by a licensed veterinarian is required at the time of surgery. If a Rabies vaccine is needed we can give it the day of surgery. Also a pre-anesthetic blood screen is recommended prior to undergoing anesthesia and surgery. We work with you and your pet to help manage any pain after surgery.
How long do the sutures stay in after my pet's surgery?
Procedures involving sutures require them to be removed about 10-14 days following the surgery.
How often does my pet need to have their teeth cleaned? Is there anything I should be doing at home?
We will examine your pet's teeth during their annual exam to determine the best schedule for your pet. Just like people, individual pets develop tartar and oral disease at different rates. Many large dogs can go for one to three years without a cleaning at your animal clinic. However, most smaller breeds need a professional cleaning every six to twelve months. However, by brushing your pet’s teeth at home, you can minimize how often your pet will need its teeth professionally cleaned.
How do I choose a Veterinarian?
When you are looking for a veterinarian, make sure you choose a animal doctor that makes you and your pet feel comfortable and safe, and is someone that you can trust. It is important that you also find a supportive, calm and caring environment that both you and your pet are comfortable with. Also, choosing a animal clinic that has additional in-house services can make your pet health care more convenient for you over time.

We are committed to consistently offering you quality pet health care combined with compassion and respect for animals.
